Cot One Convertible by Helinox is a comfortable camp bed for those looking for “lifted” comfort in the outdoors without carrying loads of bulky equipment. With Cot One Convertible, Helinox offers a high-end solution just over 2 kilos: This anywhere bed is incredibly lightweight, packs very small and offers a unique tension mechanism.
Sleeping on a cot lifts you off the ground and thus offers several advantages. It avoids contact with insects or other small animals and keeps you off cold or wet ground. In addition, sharp stones or uneven terrain do not present any problems.
To assemble Cot One Convertible, two sustainably anodized DAC aluminum poles are guided lengthwise through the cover. As usual with Helinox products, the poles are internally connected with rubber bands. Thus they unfold as if by themselves.
Three transversal braces, which integrate the unique Cot One Convertible tension mechanism, are then attached to the longitudinal bars. First, the crossbars are hooked in on one side. The lever on the other end is then tensioned with some force until the two lateral buttons lock into place and tighten the lying surface.
With Cot One Convertible Long Helinox also thinks of taller people and offers a luxurious 20 cm longer version that is 210 cm instead of 190 cm.
In addition, the brand offers twelve complementary aluminum feet that can be attached to the crossbars. They lift the lying height from 17 cm to 38 cm. Not only does this create additional storage space underneath the sleeping surface, it also makes it easier to get up.
Cot One Convertible is available at a recommended retail price of 340 Euro at retailers. The longer version Cot One Convertible Long costs 360 Euro.
