Lightweight Trekking Packs The Gregory Paragon And Maven

Technical and Lightweight

The PARAGON (men) and MAVEN (women) are Gregory’s new fully-featured, lightweight trekking packs. The new Aerolon suspension system is made from an ultra-lightweight 7001 aluminium tubular frame, specially designed so that stability is not compromised when the back length is adjusted. The hip fins are also individually adjustable. The backpack specialists have made the back panel from very light and airy matrix foam, covered in mesh fabric, for good ventilation and increased wear comfort. The PARAGON and MAVEN are available in four volumes, which in turn come in a choice of two adjustable back lengths.

If comfort and abundant features are the focus with a backpack, then weight ends up being compromised. Hard wearing fabrics, pockets, zips and sophisticated suspension systems all end up quite literally in the balance.

For its new lightweight backpacks, the Paragon and Maven, Gregory has combined carefully selected, top-quality materials with the well thought out and innovative Aerolon suspension system. This has enabled the American backpack specialists to come up with a well-appointed, technical pack that is also lightweight. And if you think it could still be pared down a little, then simply substitute the detachable lid for the detachable partition between the base and main compartments.
Ventilation comes in the form of airy matrix foam, covered in mesh fabric. The lightweight, tubular frame made from aluminium alloy transfers power and also enables the back length to be adjusted for an individual fit. So the Paragon and Maven, which already come in two different back lengths, can also be adjusted to the individual torso of the wearer.

Gregory has always emphasised the importance of individualised fit and the resultant comfort it brings. “A backpack has to fit like a pair of shoes” is a slogan that has permeated their production from day one. It comes as no surprise then, that the hip fins are also individually adjustable. When the waist belt is adjusted, the hip fin pockets shift forwards or backwards, to keep the contents within easy reach.
