prAna Swimwear Spring / Summer 2017
Dive In and Float On
Bringing the California lifestyle to Europe, active wear specialists prAna are expanding their swimwear category with new silhouettes, prints and colors while maintaining functionality. True to their philosophy, they are sourcing a big part of the polyester yarns using recycled material.
Inspired by their immediate surroundings: The Pacific Ocean is only a stone’s throw from the prAna Headquarter in Carlsbad. California. This is where stand up paddlers, surfers and sun worshipers live the happy philosophy prAna exports to Europe with each of their colorful swimwear collections made from sustainable materials.
Since summer 2016, a big portion of the swimwear collection has been made from recycled polyester. Moving into summer 2017, that share is expanding significantly. „To us, it is a brand philosophy to use as much eco-friendly materials as possible. Luckily, we have also found really good solutions also for the stretch materials we use in swimwear”, says Ellen Krimmel, VP of Design and Merchandising.
Featuring the beloved strappy back details known from their active wear collection, the Dreaming One Piece, Dreaming Tankini and Dreaming Bikini Top for women show a flattering look from all sides. The collection offers different styles for all fits, functional silhouettes and a lot of love for detail. Soft bra cups are removable when applicable.
Other summer 2017 highlights are the Lorelei Sun Top and the Rai Swim Tight – with a UPF 50+ that makes them the perfect pick for active days at the seaside or stand up paddling. Both tight and top are made from 78% recycled polyester.
The popular Men’s Sediment Short comes in new colors and fresh patterns. The watermen’s classic is made from a quick drying fabric (92% recycled Polyester and 8% Spandex) with a security pocket and a key loop. Being one of the most versatile pieces in swimwear, the Sediment Short is good to go for most activities in, on and above the ocean. The new Calder Sleeveless (86% Polyester, 14% Spandex) adds to the series of Men’s sun tops with a UPF 50+.
